FAQs

Shilajit

How is it made?

Over millions of years, plants and organic matter were trapped by layers of rocks in mineral-rich mountainous areas of Himalaya and Karakoram. The pressure from the weight of the mountains and the extreme temperature changes cause the plants and natural organic matter to be transformed into a rich mineral mass that flows out of the rocks.

How do I take it?

Is it safe?

Shilajit has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine and our Peak Altitude Shilajit range is naturally purified with filtered spring water and Moringa Seeds and has been tested in the UK and at Source for purity and safety.

Our Peak Altitude Shilajit is tested for heavy metals and bacterial contamination to the highest possible UK standard and these lab reports are available to view here (link to certs page).

The standard supplement disclaimer on our range of products apply: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or under a doctors care for any health condition, you should consult your physician before taking this or any other supplement.

Are there any contraindications?

Our Peak Altitude Shilajit range is very safe. However, because Shilajit can naturally lower blood sugar, diabetics need to monitor their usage to prevent hypoglycaemia.

Shilajit should not be mixed with tap or chlorinated water. The powerful fulvic and humic acids present in Shilajit, when combined with chlorine, create dangerous by products. Beware of other commercially available Shilajit extracts and powders/capsules posing as the real deal – As these may have been processed with chlorinated or polluted water.

How long does it take to work?

Many people report feeling improved energy and stamina upon taking it and some between 1-30 days.

What is the Fulvic Acid percentage in your Shilajit?

Fulvic acid has been identified as one of the most powerful, active nutrients in Shilajit and many other brands selling their Shilajit advertise specific and standardized percentages of fulvic acid content in their product.

After conferring with several prominent laboratories in the UK and overseas, we have discovered that there is no laboratory that can correctly measure fulvic acid percentages with any accuracy or consistency.

In both scientific literature and among the top scientists in their fields, there is no agreement on what the real size and molecular weight of the fulvic acid molecule is. There is no set universal standard of the measurement of these percentages – Hence every brand claiming that their Shilajit is of the highest percentage is simply misleading you.

In addition to this, there are so many minerals, vitamins, organic matters, amino acids and complex acid chains present in the fulvic acid domain that would need to be removed leaving just the active fulvic acid molecules for testing.

As it stands, by altering the type of testing, extortionately different fulvic percentages can be measured from the same sample. For example, if five different tests are done from the same sample batch there will be five different results that will have extremely dramatically different percentages. One test may show 20% and another 63% and still another 42%.

It is also important to take into consideration that Shilajit is a naturally occurring substance and therefore will never have a set percentage of fulvic acid. So how do most companies claim a set percentage that never changes from batch to batch?

It is not uncommon for some wholesalers to add fulvic acid (Yes, the same fulvic acid found in everyday fertilizers) to claim a standard percentage of fulvic acid. Always do your due diligence with these types of claims.

Our Gold Grade Shilajit is sourced for purity, efficacy and is the prepared using 100% natural methods. We are direct to source unlike many other brands. We will never manipulate lab tests or reports to seek a standard percentage of fulvic acid which simply cannot be measured.
